Electric Vehicles in St Andrews
What are the benefits of an electric vehicle?
eFife is a project that supports Fife’s electric vehicle network – from the vehicles and charging points to promoting the benefits of Electric Vehicles (EV) along with grants available to help buy one.
EV Charging in St Andrews
There are now over 40 public EV charging points across Fife.
These are mainly at long stay car parks in town centres, and at public transport interchanges such as railway stations and park & rides.
ChargePlace Scotland have produced a handy etiquette guide on using electric vehicle charge points, accessible here. Remember, it’s good to share, so don’t stay at a charger for longer than you need to charge, especially a rapid charger. And don’t park an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) car in an EV parking bay!
ZapMap, OpenChargeMap and ChargeMap all offer free online maps where you can view all chargers in a specific locality.
University EV Chargers
Non-University permit holders can use these electric vehicle chargers, but cannot park in other bays.
Colours indicate available charging speeds – yellow (<5kW), blue (7-22kW) and pink (43kW+)
